ABOUT
INDUSTRIAL GROWTH CENTRE, LASSIPORA
Industries, secondary sector of our economy is one of the major
contributors to the UT of J&K. Industrial Growth Centre Lassipora stands one of the
largest industrial areas in the entire northern region of India. With more than 500
industrial units, IGC Lassipora becomes the hub of employment generation for more than
10,000 skilled and non-skilled labors. Not only this, our contribution towards the
nominal GDP and all forms commercial taxes in both manufacturing and service sector
stood high at all times.
IGC Lassipora has highest number of integrated cold chain stores in
the UT of J&K. We have adopted all forms of technology up-gradations and innovations
which were once considered impossible in the UT of J&K. Over a decade IGC Lassipora has
become a topic of discussion in all economic forums due to its growth and stability.
Products manufactured in our industrial estate are exported to rest of the country and
other developing countries like Russia, Middle East countries as well. Being largest
industrial area comes with many challenges and problems.
Post floods of 2014 our
business fraternity has suffered enormous numbers of losses. Now living with crisis of
covid19 pandemic, our business fraternity has lost its wings to fly. Our collaboration
with the highest officials of the government has always been there and to further
strengthen it, we are setting up an agenda for the meeting. Apart from large scale
industries there is a huge potential for Micro small and medium (MSME) in Kashmir. To
promote and facilitate industrialization our Industrial Growth Centre, Lassipora the IAL
will always stand with a cause to facilitate industrialists by providing them support to
regulate industrial activities. Infrastructure corridors are being proposed all across
the country connecting the national capital with the union territory of J&K, this is
mainly to improve the connectivity and expedite the process of industrialization.
